1. Introduction
Animerulz ("we", "us", "our") operates the website and related services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information when you access or use the Service.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.
2. Information We Collect
Animerulz does not require account registration to watch anime, and we do not ask for your name, address, or payment information. We collect limited data:
- Usage Data — anonymous information such as pages visited, time on page, referring URL, browser type, device type, operating system, and approximate geographic region derived from your IP address (country/city level).
- Local Storage — we store small pieces of data in your browser (e.g. watchlist, playback preferences, session caches) to power features like "Continue Watching". This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it.
- Communications — if you email us (support, DMCA, legal, partnerships), we retain the content of that correspondence to respond and to keep records.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Personalize your experience (e.g. remember watchlist and preferences).
- Diagnose technical problems and prevent abuse, fraud, or illegal activity.
- Respond to support, DMCA, legal, and partnership inquiries.
- Comply with applicable laws and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
5. Third-Party Services
Video content is delivered from third-party media hosts. When you play a video, your browser connects directly to those hosts, and they may collect technical data (IP address, device info) under their own privacy policies. We have no control over their practices.
We may also use third-party infrastructure providers (CDN, hosting, analytics) that process limited technical data on our behalf.
6. Data Retention
Anonymous usage data is retained only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, typically in aggregate form. Email correspondence is retained for as long as needed to resolve your inquiry and to satisfy legal obligations.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. GDPR in the EU/UK, CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at legal@animerulz.com.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures — including HTTPS, encrypted storage for the limited data we keep, and access controls — to protect information against unauthorized access. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Users
Animerulz is operated globally. If you access the Service from outside our primary hosting region, your data may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than your own. By using the Service you consent to such transfers.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
