1. Overview
Animerulz is a search and discovery platform. We do not host, upload, store, or transmit any video files on our own servers. All video content is embedded from third-party media hosts that operate independently of Animerulz.
Because we do not host content, DMCA takedown requests should ordinarily be directed to the third-party host that stores the file. If you believe a link or embed on Animerulz points to infringing material, you may also notify us and we will remove the link or embed from our index as quickly as possible.
2. Safe Harbor Statement
Animerulz operates in compliance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, and equivalent copyright laws in other jurisdictions. We act as a service provider that:
- Does not have actual knowledge of infringing activity on the Service.
- Does not receive a direct financial benefit from infringing activity.
- Expeditiously removes or disables access to material upon receipt of a valid notice.
- Has designated an agent to receive notifications of claimed infringement.
3. Filing a DMCA Notice
If you are a copyright owner (or authorized to act on behalf of one) and believe that material accessible through Animerulz infringes your copyright, you may submit a written notice to our designated DMCA agent.
Please note that under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages.
4. Required Information
To be effective, your notice must be in writing and include all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed. If multiple works are covered by a single notice, provide a representative list.
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity, and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled — with information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material. Please include the exact URLs on Animerulz where the content appears.
- Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you, such as an address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
A notice that does not substantially comply with all six requirements may be invalid, and we may be unable to act on it. Please review your notice carefully before sending.
5. Where to Send Your Notice
Send DMCA notices to our designated agent:
We aim to review all valid notices within 24–72 hours.
6. Counter-Notification
If your material was removed from Animerulz due to a DMCA notice, and you believe the removal was the result of mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification to dmca@animerulz.com. Your counter-notification must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.
Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we may restore the removed material within 10–14 business days, unless the original complainant notifies us that they have filed a court action.
7. Repeat Infringers
In accordance with the DMCA and other applicable laws, Animerulz has adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, users who are deemed to be repeat infringers. Because Animerulz does not require account registration, "termination" means blocking access from abusive sources, removing indexed links, and, where applicable, reporting to upstream hosts.
8. Misrepresentation
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing — or that material or activity was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification — may be liable for any damages, including costs and attorneys' fees incurred by the alleged infringer, by any copyright owner or copyright owner's authorized licensee, or by us.
Please do not submit false or fraudulent DMCA notices. They are a serious matter and may result in legal action against you.
9. Good Faith Reminder
We take copyright infringement seriously and act on all valid notices promptly. If your concern relates to a specific video file rather than an indexed link, please direct your notice to the third-party host that is actually storing the file — that is the most effective and fastest way to have the content permanently removed.
